Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Bagwell College of Education

The Bagwell College of Education (BCOE) Standing Committee for Diversity aims to serve as change agents in the college by promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion through initiatives and policies. This website represents past, present, and ongoing initiatives to address the needs of historically marginalized and minoritized populations. This work looks to the values of the BCOE in promoting democratic principles of educational equity and social justice for all learners; valuing diversity, collaboration, professionalism, and shared governance; and creating a safe, collegial workplace established and sustained by its members who are valued for their talents and diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. This work is an extension of KSU’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion, which engages in activities to 1) prepare KSU students, faculty, and staff to achieve professionally and personally in a state, nation, and world that is increasingly diverse and interconnected; 2) increase the recruitment, retention, progression, and graduation of all qualified students with a particular focus on the success of those who have been underserved in the past; and, 3) recruit, retain, and promote an increasingly diverse faculty and staff.
